Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
When you use FreeIPTools, we may collect:
- IP address — used to provide the core service (IP lookup, geo data). Not stored long-term.
- HTTP headers — browser, language, and connection details displayed to you in real time. Not logged.
- Usage data — aggregate page view counts for the hit counter. No personally identifiable information is stored.
2. Advertiser Accounts
If you register as an advertiser, we collect:
- Username and bcrypt-hashed password (plaintext password is never stored).
- Account balance and transaction history.
- Ad content (title, description, URL).
- Hashed IP addresses for impression and click deduplication (stored as one-way SHA-256 hashes — original IPs are not recoverable).
3. Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or payment details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. We store only the amount deposited and transaction status.
4. Cookies
We use a single session cookie (advert_session) only for logged-in advertisers. It is HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and expires after 30 days. No tracking or analytics cookies are set.
5. Third-Party Services
- ip-api.com — used server-side to look up geolocation data for your IP. Their terms apply.
- Tailwind CSS / Font Awesome / Google Fonts — loaded from CDNs on tool pages. Those providers may log requests.
6. Data Retention
IP event hashes (for ad deduplication) are retained for 30 days then may be purged. Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing privacy@freeiptools.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes
We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
